One Week Workshop on Development of Vocational Skills was inaugurated by Unnat Bharat
Abhiyan Team of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar under the able
guidance of Principal, Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The workshop is aimed at
imparting vocational skills to the participants coming from Gillan village. The
participants will be given hands on training of basic stitching and embroidery
skills, crochet, painting, handloom weaving and printing. The Resource Persons
of the workshop will be Dr. Rakhi Mehta, Head Department of Design and Mrs.
Navneeta from Department of Fashion Designing. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay
Sareen congratulated team members comprising Dr. Minakshi Duggal Mehta, Dr. Anjana
Bhatia, Mrs. Urvashi Mishra, Mr. Sushil Kumar and Mrs. Shefali Kashyap. She
also expressed her gratitude to the Village Sarpanch, Mrs. Balwinder Kaur for
her active involvement and cooperating with the institute. Dr. Hemant Coordinator UBA- Regional Coordinating
Institute, Rural Development Department,
National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chandigarh also
appreciated the efforts of the college and said that such events are meant to
involve the villagers by providing training at the grass root level.
