World
Water Day and World Sparrow Day was celebrated in the premises of Hans Raj
Mahila Maha Vidayala, Jalandhar under the aegis of Innovation Cell,
Environment Club and NSS in collaboration with NGO Alfa Mahendru. On this
occasion, IAS Ojasvi Alankar, Asstt. Commissioner (UT) was the Chief Guest
along with Mrs. Neeru Wadhwa Asstt. General Manager, Canara Bank, BMC Chowk,
Jalandhar City. Under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.)
Ajay Sareen Water and millet feeders for the birds were placed at various
locations in the premises of HMV. A rally was taken out to save water and
spread awareness regarding them. On this occasion, Dr. Ajay Sareen said that we
must rejuvenate the relationship between humans and sparrows and raise
awareness to protect the bird as well as water. Sh. Ojasvi, IAS said that
ground water is fast depleting and we must make every possible effort to save
water. Mrs. Neeru Wadhwa Asstt. General Manager, Canara Bank, BMC Chowk,
Jalandhar City praised the efforts of Principal Ajay Sareen in carrying out
social responsibility. Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dean Academics and Incharge
Environment Club, Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Dean Innovations and Research, Ms. Harmanu,
Incharge, Programme Officer, NSS, Mr. Ramesh Mahendru, President NGO Alfa, Sr.
Vice President Mr. Rajesh Sammi, General Secretary Mr. Jaswinder S. Dhiraj,
PRO, Mr. Manoj Tandon, Dy. PRO Mr. Proneet Sharma Event Manager were also
present.
