Scheme celebrated International Day of Immunology on
29th April, 2022, under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr.
(Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The theme of International Day of Immunology 2022 was
‘Vaccines’ and to spread awareness among the students about the role of
vaccines in providing immunity against the infectious diseases, Interclass Powerpoint
Presentation Competition was organized on the topics- Immune response and
Clinical manifestations and COVID 19 vaccine development and status. Around 10
students actively participated in the competition. Slogans on the importance of
immunity and the ways to boost it were also displayed by the students. Madam
Principal appreciated the efforts of the students and encouraged them to spread
the awareness about the role of vaccination in eradicating various infectious
diseases. Dr. P.K. Pati, Professor, Department of Biotechnology and Dr. Sandeep
Sharma, HOD Department of Computer Science, GNDU Amritsar also congratulated
Zoology Department for this initiative. They further appreciated the students’
presentation skills and gave suggestions for their improvement. On this
occasion, an animated video on the working of immune system was also showed to
the students. Ms. Gurneet, B.Sc. Med Sem VI, Ms. Isha Thakur B.Sc. BT Sem IV
and Ms. Divya Awasthi B.Sc. Med. Sem IV got 1st, 2nd and
3rd prize respectively and Ms. Jasmine Samra got consolation prize
in the competition. On this occasion Dr. Neelam Sharma and all faculty members
of Science were also present. The event was organized by collaborative efforts
of Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dr. Sakshi Verma and Mr. Ravi Kumar. Mr. Sachin, Lab attendant assisted in the arrangement of venue and making all arrangements for
the event.
