Under the able guidance of Principal Prof.
Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, Institution Innovation Council of HMV Jalandhar celebrated
World IPR Day, World Book and Copyright Day by organizing different
events. World IPR day was celebrated by organising awareness programme
and quiz. Dr. Minakshi Duggal Mehta acted as quizmaster and quizzed students on
various aspects of copyright Laws. Dr. Jaspreet also quizzed students on IP
Awareness. Students and teachers further participated actively in
various sessions organised by Ministry of Education and the Ministry of
Commerce in which Prof. (Dr.) Unnat P. Pandit, Controller General of Patents,
Designs & Trademarks, Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal
Trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt of India talked about
Translating Ideas to Inventions- What Researchers need to do?, Dr.
Malathi Lakshmikumaran, Director, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan talked about
Best Practices for documentation of research and conducting a preliminary
assessment of patentability, Dr. Dinesh P. Patil, Dy. Controller of Patents
& Designs (Technical Head, O/o CGPDTM), DPPIT, Ministry of Commerce &
Industry, Govt of India talked about Important aspects to consider while
preparing patent specifications and Prof. (Dr.) Prabuddha Ganguli, Vision- IPR,
Visiting Professor, Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law, IIT
Kharagpur talked about Assessing Worthiness of Inventions and Creating
Strategies for Patenting them Outside India.
Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Incharge, IIC,
thanked Ministry of Educations Innovation Cell for the informative sessions.
