In order to
sensitize students about the alarming situation of increasing population, HMV
Collegiate Sr. Sec. School, Jalandhar celebrated “World Population Day” in
which Poster–making competition was organized. The competition was organized
under the dynamic guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The
students participated in it enthusiastically and exhibited their talent by
making posters on various population related issues. The posters expressed
their deep concern and care for the healthy growth and safety of the human
race. They showcased the consequences of the population explosion that included
food and water shortage, unemployment, poverty, war and social conflict and
depletion of natural resources. Their aesthetically drawn posters put emphasis
on Small Family Happy Family. The
competition was judged by Mrs. Urvashi Mishra, Dr. Shailendra Kumar and Ms.
Harpreet Kaur. In this competition Komal Bagga of SSC II commerce bagged first
position, Shafreen of SSC II commerce got second position and Vidhita of SSC I
Non-Medical got third position. Kamakshi of SSC 1 Medical and Srishti Jain of
SSC I (Commerce) got consolation prizes . Principal Prof. Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen
congratulated the winners and highlighted the importance of population control
to make this world a better place to live in. She said that HMV Collegiate
Sr. Sec. School always remains in frontline to motivate and encourage students
by organizing such activities time and again. Such activities aware the
students regarding various social concerns. School Coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Syal also appreciated
the posters prepared by the students and encouraged them to participate more in
such competitions to enhance their talent. The overall incharge of the event
was Ms. Sukriti Sharma.
