New Academic Session begins with a Havan at HMV




The Academic Session 2022-23 commenced on the pious notes of Havan Yajna at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar under the dynamic guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The respected Chief Guests of the occasion were members of Local Committee Mr. and Mrs. Y.K. Sud. The inaugural Havan was organized by Vedic Society under Mrs. Mamta and Dr. Meenu Talwar. Everyone joined hands in chanting the holy mantras and invoking the blessings of the Almighty for the new session. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen extended a warm welcome to the guests and new entrants to HMV. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen expressed her delight over the numerous awards to the credit of HMV and she acknowledged the contribution of every HMVian in taking HMV to apex of glory. She felicitated the new students on joining the institution and assured them that the faculty and staff of HMV will help them fulfill their dreams and achieve their goals. HMV will carve them like diamonds to bring out their luster and sheen. Sh. Y.K. Sud gave his blessings saying that HMV is a pioneer institution of DAV and a great name in the field of education. Dean Academics Dr. Seema Marwaha also extended best wishes to the students and motivated them to work hard to achieve success. Sh. Y.K. Sud presented the awards of Education Excellence for Best Infra Structure and Zero Waste Awareness of the year Award conferred by Govt. of India to HMV. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen received the certificates amidst the loud echo of claps. Continuing with its innovative practices, HMV saw the release of HMV Vision, the first ever newspaper to be published by any educational institution. It is a venture of Mass Communication Department headed by Mrs. Rama Sharma. HMV News Vol. 49 edited by Mrs. Ritu Bajaj, Mrs. Lovleen Kaur, Dr. Nitika Kapoor and Mr. Ashish Chadha was also released on the occasion. The stage was conducted by Dr. Anjana Bhatia and Vote of Thanks was presented by Dean Vedic values Mrs. Mamta. The Havan Yajna concluded with the recital of Shanti Path. An orientation session was also organized for the new students. In this session, Dean Academics, Dr. Seema Marwaha told the students about general rules of the college. Dr. Ashmeen Kaur, IQAC Coordinator did general counseling of the students, Mrs. Binoo Gupta told about student Welfare measure, Mr. Jagjit Bhatia told them about placement, Dr. Anjana Bhatia told them about Innovation and Entrepreneurship, ANO Lt. Sonia Mahindru encouraged the students for taking up NCC. Mrs. Veena Arora told them about NSS. This session was organized under Internal Quality Assurance Cell.
