Under the able
guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, four students of HMV have
been selected for Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon-2022. The team Evolving
buds from HMV consisting of Mehak, Depaali, Palak and Harshita prepared a
prototype of My DigiYatra in which they developed a program for connecting all
the important pilgrimages of India. They worked on the idea of Virtual
Pilgrimage experience to be an alternative to travel that is perfect for those
who are unable to leave their home, or even for those who are just looking for
a Spiritual Journey. This idea will benefit the senior citizens who can visit
these sites using their phones. The user can visit the pilgrimages of India
from anywhere at any time. In COVID times, people could not reach their
favorite pilgrimages they are devoted towards. In addition Pilgrimages also
suffer financially. In addition disabled or old devotees are not able to visit
the pilgrimages. The students of HMV developed a single virtual platform having
live 360 visuals of famous pilgrimages of India to help these devotees. Their
main objective was to bring forward the culture of India to the rest of the
world and to make sure users stay emotionally connected with their deity even
in situations like COVID induced lockdown. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen
congratulated the students , their Nodal Officer Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Dean,
Innovations and Research, mentors, Mr. Ashish Chadha and Mr. Rishabh Dhir and
gave them best wishes for the future endeavors. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen
further mentioned that HMV has always supported innovations and
entrepreneurship amongst students.
