The
renovated and upgraded hostel mess at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya was
inaugurated by Sud family here today. The hostel mess was renamed as “Smt.
Sarla Devi Sud Bhojnalaya” in the name of loving mother of Sud family. On this
occasion, Havan Yajna was performed to seek the blessings of the Almighty.
Chairman Local Committee Justice (Retd.) Sh. N.K. Sud and his wife Mrs. Arunima
Sud, his brother Sh. Inder Sud (virtually from U.S.), Sh. Y.K. Sud and his
wife, Mr. Raghav Sud were present there. The sisters and daughters of Late Smt.
Sarla Devi Sud, Mrs. Sushma Sud. Mrs. Sudarshan Sud and Mrs. Manorama Mayor
were also present. They were accompanied by Local Committee members Sh.
Surendra Seth, Sh. Kundan Lal Aggarwal, Dr. Sushma Chawla, Principal (Retd.)
Sh. Inderjit Talwar, Dr. Pawan Gupta, Mr. Ashok Pruthi, Prof. Salil Uppal and Mr. D.N. Sharma, President
Rotary Club, Udhampur. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen welcomed all the
guests. She thanked Sud family for funding the upgradation of mess. She said
that this upgraded Bhojnalaya will be an asset for the generations to come. She
said that whatever food we eat and in which ambience will affect our thought
process. Sh. Inder Sud joined this ceremony from U.S. virtually. He gave his
blessings to HMV. Sh. Y.K. Sud said that their father Late Sh. D.D. Sud was
deeply involved in DAV institutions. On his 100th birthday, in 2018,
D.D. Sud Board Room was inaugurated at HMV and now Bhojnalaya has been
automated and renamed in the name of their mother. He said that HMV always
remained very close to his father’s heart. Local Committee member Sh. Surendra
Seth also thanked Sud family for this generosity and blessed the resident
scholars. Justice (Retd.) Sh. N.K. Sud thanked HMV for using the funds in the
betterment of the Bhojnalaya. Coordinator Resident Scholars Mrs. Meenakshi Syal
presented vote of thanks. HMV family also congratulated Mrs. Peggy Sud, wife of
Sh. Inder Sud, as it was her birthday today. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen
presented plants of Tulsi to all the guests. All the Deans, PRO, members of
Mess Committee, Suprientendents and other staff members were also present.
