Seven Day Special NSS Camp was started in the premises of Hans Raj Mahila Maha
Vidyalaya by the NSS Unit of the College. The inauguration ceremony was
addressed by Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen
congratulated the entire NSS unit and its volunteers for this pious work.
Further, she said that such sorts of activities are mandatory for the welfare
of our society. Ms. Ramanpreet Kaur, the founder head of Green Sparrows Project
was the Chief Guest of the occasion. She motivated the NSS Volunteers to the
serve the society and stressed on the need of the youth to provide the right
direction to the same. She also emphasized on the role of young generation for
women empowerment, employment generation and prevention from environmental
pollution. She also told about her NGO which is run under S. Ajit Singh
Foundation Society (R) Jalandhar. Moreover, she made the NSS Volunteer to aware
pertaining to the best out of the waste, to ponder over the welfare of humanity
and how to make balance between our domestic and social life. On the first day
of this camp, NSS volunteers attended the guest lecture delivered by Ms.
Ramanpreet Kaur and cleaned the botanical
garden in which they gathered fig leaves from the garden for vermi-composting.
On this occasion, Ms. Mukti Arora enlightened the NSS volunteers by delivering
a lecture on Self-Grooming. Programme
Officer Dr. Veena Arora enlivened the students to take part in social
activities. Ms. Harmanu highlighted the activities to be done in this special
seven day NSS Camp. Mr. Parminder Singh assisted the volunteers to take part in
the activites. The stage was conducted by Dr. Meenu Talwar.
