A one day Faculty Enrichment Programme was organized
by Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya on “Financial Literacy”. The Resource Persons
were CA Swinky Singhal, CA Ankit Singhal and CDSL Trainer CS Pooja M. Kohli.
Incharge of Faculty Enrichment Programme Dr. Seema Khanna welcomed the Resource
Persons and gave their brief introduction. CA Swinky Singhal addressed the
faculty members and said that everyone must check their financial health
regularly. She told that inflation eats up our savings at a rapid speed. So,
investment becomes necessary. She said that savings should be increased if you
want to lead a good life after retirement. CA Ankit Singhal said that life is much
unexpected. Everyone must have a life insurance plan. Medical insurance has
also become necessity these days. He told about various savings options.
Investment in mutual funds is beneficial but this investment should be for a
longer period i.e. for 5-10 years. He also told the participants about National
Pension Scheme (NPS) and PPF. For investment purpose, consistency is the key.
Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen honoured the Resource Persons. She said
that sensitization of staff towards financial planning was the motive of this programme
and this purpose was solved. With little analysis, we can see our funds
growing. We all are awakened about our future and the future of our kids and
family. We invest for the purpose of security and our bright future. In the
second session, CDSL Trainer CS Pooja M. Kohli told the faculty members about
financial stability. Investment can be started at any age. Age is no bar for
investing your money. She said that investment should be done after knowing all
the ins and outs of a plan. She said that money speaks only one language. It
says “If you save me today, I will save you tomorrow.” She told about various
investment alternatives of low risk, medium risk and high risk. She told about
various government schemes for investment. Incharge of the programme Dr. Seema
Khanna and Dr. Shallu Batra thanked the Resource Persons. Stage was conducted
by Mrs. Lovleen Kaur and Dr. Deepti Dhir. The sessions were attended by
teaching faculty and non-teaching staff members.
