Ten
cadets of NCC Army Wing and ANO Lt. Sonia Mahindru attended Army attachment
camp at 18 Sikh Regiment. This camp had been a great learning experience
for cadets. Cadets got the opportunity to visit Mechanized Infantry battalion,
Aviation Squadron, Air Gun Shooting Range, Officer’s Mess and Stadium. They also
attended 7th Armed Forces Veteran Day celebration function, where they
escorted and interacted with veterans, Veer Naris and gallantry Awardees.
Cadets also interacted with Lady Officers, who told them about permanent
commission and motivated them to join armed forces. Lectures on SSB,
recruitment in armed forces, leadership and Stress Management were organized.
Cadets were provided weapon training, they were trained to fire with INSAS
rifle and were also taught drill. During the camp many infantry weapons
were showcased to cadets. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen thanked Group Commander
Brig. I. S Bhalla NCC group headquarters Jalandhar and Commanding Officer Col
NPS Toor 2 PB(G) BN NCC for organizing such fruitful camp for girl cadets. She
also expressed her sincere gratitude to Col. Kuldeep A. Karpe Commanding Officer
18 Sikh Regiment whose team had been constantly training the cadets.
