Under the
surveillance of proficient Principal Prof.Dr. (Mrs) Ajay and with the
collaboration of Awaz Welfare Society, a 6th event named “Kujj Pal Maa Boli De
Naam” was successfully organized by the PG Department of Punjabi in the
premises of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar. Padam Shri Dr. Surjit
Pattar (President Punjab Kala Parishad) was the chief guest for the occasion.
Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen welcomed the chief guest by presenting him planter
and a token of love. The eve was commenced by lighting the holy lamp. At the
outset, Mrs. Navroop (Head of the Punjabi Department) described about the
programme in detailed manner and after that she welcomed all the guests and
faculty members for their presence in the occasion. Further, she said, Punjabi
department always take initiatives to popularize Punjabi language in the world.
Principal Dr. Sareen welcomed the Awaz Welfare Society for selecting to
organize this event in north India’s leading institution i.e. HMV. In addition
to this, she told that, this institution never forgets to celebrate
International Mother Language Day and always keep ready to impart Punjabi
Language in and across the country. Moreover, she said, multiple programmes are
conducted on this day but these programmes can be successful only if we
surrender ourselves to Punjabi Language both physically and mentally. She also
congratulated the PG Department of Punjabi for organizing this event. The chief
guest Padam Shri Dr. Surjit Pattar, in his speech, said that he always feels
proud whenever, he comes in this institution. Further, he said that in order to
impart the Punjabi Language, academic institutions play inevitable role. In
addition, he said that there are distinct religions in our society and people
belonging to different religions live in our country but Literary writers,
Singers, Government, Media, Movie directors, Literary societies, and academic
institutions can only save the Punjabi Language from extinction. Moreover, he
told that, Punjabi Language was created by our ancestors and it is our
responsibility to impart it. Next, he said, Punjabi Language is not only the
language of five river. Actually, it has become the language of seven seas now.
On this occasion, for promoting the movie “Ji wife Ji’, its start cast Karamjit
Anmol, Ekta Gulati, Gurpreet, and Lucky Dhaliwal made their special appearance.
The entire event was organized by the main organizer Sumit Duggal and Kulwinder
Singh from France. On this eve, Harpreet Singh Makkhu, Gurmeet Singh Maan,
Singers Ranbir, Shinda Multani, Navjeet Gill and jeevanJoti showed their
singing skills and made the milieu cheerful. The stage was conducted by Mrs.
Kuljit Kaur. On this occasion, from the department of Punjabi Dr. Veena Arora,
Dr. Sandeep Kaur, Ms. Amanjot Kaur and Ms. Sharanjot Kaur were also present.
