Financial Literacy Workshop organized by Commerce Club of HMV

 

Commerce Club of PG Department of Commerce & Management of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organized Two days 10 hours Financial Literacy Workshop  1^st September- 2^nd September 2023 on the topic “Career in Securities Market Sector and Developing Good Investment Habits”. It was organized in collaboration with NISM- An Educational Initiative by SEBI and Kotak Securities Ltd., under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. Resource Persons of this workshop were Mrs. Anita Saini, Financial Market Trainer and Mr. Nagesh Kumar, Company Secretary, Chartered Financial Analyst.  The session began with formal welcome and green greetings by Ms. Meenu Kohli (Head, PG Dept. of Commerce), Coordinator Ms. Binoo Gupta (Dean Student Welfare) Ms. Meenu Kundra and Ms. Kanika Sharma, Incharges of workshop. Ms. Binoo Gupta, Coordinator of the programme briefed that such programs aimed promoting gender equality by  enabling students to become Financial Independent and for this students must know about the various financial avenues and opportunities available, learn about budgeting, financial planning, establishing and using credit, preventing identity theft, and loan options. She told more than 50 students were benefitted by the workshop.  On 1^st September 2023 CS Nagesh Kumar educated the students regarding Investment habits and encouraged students to invest their money wisely. He also gave knowledge to students about various investment schemes and to start investing timely to reap good retirement benefits. He discussed various aspects of securities in market sector. He provided useful tips on how to save money, avoid impulsive buying and educated students about financial investment schemes tending in the market. On 2^nd September 2023 Mrs. Anita Saini from NISM talked about the pros & cons of investing in securities market, what are the various Mutual Fund and Equity Schemes available and various career options in Security Markets were also discussed with the students for their career growth. Students attended workshop very enthusiastically and were very much satisfied. In between students asked their doubts and made the session interactive. On the valedictory day Principal Dr. Prof. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated the participants and the Organising Committee and told that the prime focus of our institution is to make the students self-sufficient & independent and it was achieved through such programmes.  Ms. Meenu Kohli, Head PG Department of Commerce and Management encouraged students to learn more about the Financial Opportunities and grow financially secured by using the helpful tips discussed in the workshop. Vote of thanks on the concluding day was given by  workshop incharge Ms. Meenu Kundra, Stage was conducted by Ms. Kanika Sharma. Technical assistance was provided by Mr. Vidhu Vohra. Dr. Seema Khanna,  Mrs. Anchal, Ms. Yaagrika ,Mrs. Parneet  and other faculty members graced the occasion with their presence.
