HMV IIC attended the inaugural session of
the historic milestone India created by
hosting the 18th G20 Summit, held at the prestigious Bharat Mandapam Convention
Center in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on September 9, 2023. The summit attended by world leaders, including US
President Joe Biden, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel
Macron, Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed Bin Salman, and Japan’s Fumio Kishida, among
others, was a momentous event, underscoring India's growing prominence on the
global stage. During the inaugural session, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi,
along with leaders from Singapore, Bangladesh, Italy, USA, Brazil, Argentina, Mauritius
and the UAE, unveiled the Global Biofuel Alliance, a significant initiative
aimed at advancing sustainable and environmentally friendly energy solutions.
Prime Minister Modi expressed confidence that the New Delhi G20 Summit would
pave the way for a more human-centric and inclusive approach to global
development. He emphasized India's commitment to addressing the concerns of the
Global South and the importance of emulating Mahatma Gandhi's mission of
serving the underprivileged. One of the key highlights of the summit was Prime
Minister Modi's leadership in chairing sessions on 'One Earth,' 'One Family,'
and 'One Future.' These discussions covered a wide range of critical issues of
global importance, including strong, sustainable, inclusive, and balanced
economic growth. In addition to the plenary sessions, Prime Minister Modi
engaged in bilateral meetings with several world leaders and Heads of
Delegation to strengthen international friendships and cooperation. The 18th
G20 Summit hosted by India was a remarkable gathering, setting the stage for
collaborative efforts to build a better, more equitable future for all. India's
presidency was characterized by inclusivity, ambition, decisiveness, and a
commitment to taking meaningful action on the world stage. As the summit
concluded, it left an indelible mark on India's role in shaping a more
prosperous and harmonious world, reaffirming its position as a global leader
dedicated to the well-being of humanity. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen
congratulated the nation on this historic event and motivated the Innovation
ambassadors to continue their dedication towards innovation and global
engagement. The session was attended by Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Dr. Rakhi, Ms.
Navneeta, Ms. Lovleen, Ms. Harpreet, Dr. Meenakshi, Dr. Simmi and students with
great enthusiasm.
