Volunteers, students and faculty of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar
participated in the “Indian Swachhata League, Season 2”, organized by the
Municipal Corporation Jalandhar in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing
and Urban Affairs (MOHUA), Government of India at Sodal Mandir Jalandhar. The
event aimed to promote cleanliness and environmental awareness among the
community. The chief guest of the occasion, Shri Puneet Sharma, PCS, Joint
Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jalandhar, emphasized the importance of
cleanliness and sustainability. The NSS wing of the college participated in the
event highlighting their potential in various events. A walkathon for mother
earth (Rally for plastic free India) was held in which participants marched
through the streets of Sodal Mandir, raising awareness about Swachch Bharat.
After that, numerous other competitions such as Quiz, Slogan Writing, Drawing
competition, Declamation, Best Out-of Waste, Nukaad Natak, Rangoli Making,
Graffiti competition and Song Competition on Swachhta also held throughout the
day to engage participants and spread the message of cleanliness. The winners
of various competitions were recognized and rewarded for their outstanding
performances. HMV College secured the first position in Graffiti competition,
transforming walls into vibrant canvases conveying massages of cleanliness. NSS
Volunteer Ms. Saloni won first position in Declamation Contest. The College
also captured the audience's hearts, earning the second spot in Nukkad Natak
competition and Best out of waste. One of the volunteers of NSS wing of the
college also got prize in Quiz competition. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay
Sareen congratulated the students and encouraged them to succeed in all walks
of life. The event concluded on a high note, leaving everyone inspired to
contribute to a cleaner and greener India. The faculty members, among others,
Dr. Jyoti Gogia and Ms. Harmanu were the overall incharges of the event.
