Under the able
guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, Freudian Psychological
Society organized a one day workshop on "Fight fear and achieve goal"
on the eve of World Suicide Prevention Day. The Resource Person was
an esteemed Psychotherapist Mr. Jatinder Pal Singh. He was welcomed by Mrs.
Navroop , Dean Youth Welfare and Dr. Ashmeen Kaur, Head P.G. Department
of Psychology with a planter. Mr. Jatinder Pal Singh started the workshop by
interacting with students. He explained how we can recondition our
brains by seven steps which are tranquility, awareness, accepting pattern, know
your triggers, commitment to change, repeat and resolve. He said that if you
make a conscious effort for 21-90 days you can get a new You. Sometimes people
commit suicide due to the fear of failure so, the person should remember that
failure is an event, not a person. He also revealed a shocking fact that there
is one suicide attempt in every two second globally. During the interactive
session he asked students to present their thoughts on the topic "Is
suicide a Personal Failure or Social Debacle?" Principal Prof. Dr. Ajay
Sareen appreciated this initiative and congratulated the Department of
Psychology and said that it may seem like there's no way to solve your problems
and that suicide is the only way to end the pain, but every problem has a
solution and life is precious. Ms. Ayushi, B.A. Sem 5 conducted the stage. Ms.
Vanshika gave the formal vote of thanks .On this occasion Ms. Shruti Bidani and
Ms. Nidhi Sharma also participated in the workshop. More than 100 students from
various streams participated in the workshop.
