Harmilan
Bains of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya
won 2 silver medals in Asian Games in 1500 meter and 800 meter events. Harmilan
Bains is a student of M.A. English Sem-I in HMV. She was given a very warm welcome on her reaching
HMV. On this occasion, Chairman Local Advisory Committee Justice (Retd.) Sh.
N.K. Sud, Mrs. Arunima Sud, Sh. Y.K. Sud, Sh. Kundan Lal Aggarwal, Sh. Surendra
Seth, Sh. Sudhir Sharma were also present. Harmilan was given a warm welcome
with the beats of Dhol. She was accompanied by her parents. HMV organized a
special assembly on this occasion. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen
honoured her with a planter and phulkari. She also planted a sapling in the
memory of her fabulous performance. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen
encouraged all the girls to get inspiration from her life. Harmilan, on being
emotional said that she is overwhelmed with the welcome she received. HMV is
lucky for her as she won 2 silver medals in Asian Games after taking admission
here. She also danced with the students and faculty members on the beats of
Dhol. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen thanked DAVCMC President
Padamshree Dr. Punam Suri for continuous support. She also congratulated the
faculty members of Sports Department Dr. Navneet, Mrs. Ramandeep Kaur and
Pragati. Stage was conducted by Dr. Anjana Bhatia.
