Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, recently hosted a memorable farewell event
‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’ for its outgoing undergraduate and postgraduate
students from the Humanities and Skilled Courses departments. The occasion,
Farewell-2024, was a beautiful blend of celebration and nostalgia, filled with
heartfelt moments and exuberant performances. The event was coordinated by Dr.
Jyoti Gogia, Dr. Rama Sharma, and Dr. Neeru Bharti Sharma. The venue buzzed
with excitement and began on a spiritual note with the lighting of the
traditional lamp, accompanied by the soulful recital of DAV Gaan. Principal Prof.
Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen extended her best wishes to the students, hailing them
as esteemed guests and integral members of the HMV family. She praised their
contributions to the institution's rich history and encouraged them to continue
being its proud ambassadors as they ventured into the world. Dean Youth Welfare
Mrs. Navroop gave an inspirational and
heartening address to the students. She urged the students to embrace
positivity, cherish fond memories, and be in touch with their alma mater. She
emphasised on the beauty of character which defines the person and lead them to
a meaningful life. The event was filled with vibrant performances and heartfelt
speeches that brought cheers and a few tears from the outgoing girls. The
highlight of the evening was the captivating modelling round, where
participants showcased their talent and style. The rounds were judged by Dr.
Mamta, Mrs. Ritu Bajaj and Dr. Shallu Batra. The winners were: Ms. Farewell UG
Khushi, 1st Runner Up UG Tanya Suri, 2nd Runner Up UG Srishti, Ms. Creative
Payal, Woman of Letters Saloni, Ms. Farewell PG Kashman, 1st Runner Up PG
Aakriti, 2nd Runner Up PG Niharika. Each of the winners received crowns,
planters, and gifts, signifying the appreciation and respect of their peers and
faculty. Adding to the sense of tradition, the outgoing students passed the
'Light of Knowledge' to the second-year students, symbolizing the continuity of
learning and the enduring spirit of HMV. The event concluded with a sense of
joy and gratitude, as faculty members from the Humanities and Skilled Courses
joined in to celebrate their students' accomplishments and bid them a fond
farewell. Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda and Mrs. Kuljit Kaur, along with the
students, guided the evening's proceedings with grace and poise.
