NCC Unit of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya
celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas to commemorate the sacrifice and martyrdom of our
armed forces that brought laurels to the nation during the Kargil war. The
session began with Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen’s address and welcoming of
the Chief Guest, Col. Deepak Rampal, Vir Chakra Awardee and Major Amit Sareen,
PCS, ADC, Ludhiana. She applauded the Indian armed forces for their outstanding
role in winning at Kargil despite difficult and unfavourable conditions. She
bowed to the indomitable valour and sacrifice of the Indian army on
Kargil Diwas. She enlightened the students with her golden words of empowering
women and appreciating the role of women in society. She also congratulated the
NCC Unit of the institution for taking the initiative of celebrating the day
with fervour and enthusiasm. After recitation of DAV Gaan, the Chief Guest of
the occasion, Col. Rampal apprised the audience of the history and some
fascinating facts of Kargil war. The audience had the opportunity to listen
about the live incidents that happened at that time. He also encouraged all the
students to be passionate about what they want to do in life. He gave the
mantra of HI2 at the end that corresponds to honesty, hardwork,
integrity & initiative. An interactive session was held in which the chief
guest satisfied various curiosities of the students. It was followed by singing
of patriotic songs by Dr. Prem Sagar and his team of students. The stage was
conducted by Dr. Anjana Bhatia. The event ended with all the faculty and
students saluting the armed forces followed by the recitation of the National
Anthem.
