Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya marked World Ozone Day 2024 with a vibrant and
meaningful celebration under the dynamic leadership of Principal Prof. Dr. Ajay
Sareen. The event, themed "Serving Green to Blue Ozone," was
organized by the D.D. Pant Botanical Society and featured a series of exciting
competitions that fostered creativity and environmental consciousness among
students. Over 100 enthusiastic participants showcased their talents through
slogan writing, poster making, and fuel-less cooking competitions, all with the
shared goal of protecting the ozone layer. The energy and passion throughout
the event were a testament to the students' commitment to a greener, cleaner
future. Principal Dr. Sareen urged students to become Green Ambassadors of HMV,
while Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Head of the Department, encouraged them to adopt a
sustainable lifestyle. Dr. Ramandeep, in charge of the D.D. Pant Botanical
Society, expressed gratitude to all the stakeholders for their support. Manpreet
and Kamini of M.Sc Botany delivered the Welcome Address, and the competitions
were judged by a distinguished panel, including Mrs. Deepshikha, Dr. Harpreet
Singh, Dr. Jatinder, Mr. Sumit, Mrs. Purnima, and Dr. Sakshi. Dr. Shaveta
took charge of the fuel-less cooking competition, Ms. Harpreet
managed the venues and Dr. Shuchi oversaw the poster and slogan. Dr. Rama
Sharma, Mr. Ravi, and Dr. Simmi further motivated the students with their
inspiring words. The Mass Communication Department contributed by creating
outreach videos, raising awareness about the importance of protecting the ozone
layer. Proud winners of the competitions included Kamini, Gurleen, Ankita,
Harshita, Navjor, Jassica, Yashika, Pallavi, Ankita, Gagandeep, Tanya, Kiran,
Manpreet, and Sumanpreet and their respective teams. Their efforts turned this
event into a movement for environmental action.
