HMV Empowering women through education with scholarships


 

Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya (HMV), Jalandhar, has announced its scholarship schemes for the academic session 2025-2026. Staying committed to its mission of promoting women’s education and empowerment, the institution will offer financial concessions to meritorious and deserving students under various categories. For Undergraduate Semester I students, those securing First Twenty Board Positions or scoring 98% and above in Board Examinations will be granted total freeship, with only compulsory charges to be paid. These outstanding scholars will be granted full freeships, affirming their dedication to academic excellence. Students attaining marks ranging from 95% to 97.9% will receive a scholarship worth Rs. 10,000, while those achieving marks between 93% to 94.9% will be awarded Rs. 8,000. Additionally, students securing marks between 90% to 92.9% will receive a scholarship of Rs. 4,000, with a further scholarship of Rs. 2,000 provided to those scoring between 88% to 89.9%. To further support exceptional performance, a noteworthy scholarship of Rs. 5,000 will be awarded to the first position holder in college/university for courses exclusively available within the college. In Postgraduate Semester I, students securing 1st position in their university degree will get total freeship, while 2nd and 3rd position holders will receive ₹10,000 and ₹5,000 respectively. Skilled course students will receive concessions from 15% to 10% based on merit. For subsequent years, University or College Toppers will be awarded concessions of 15% and 10% respectively, determined by highest SGPA and CGPA scores in university exams. Additionally, in any course where fewer than 100 students appeared in the last university exam, the topper will receive a scholarship of ₹5,000.The college has also extended its support through other social welfare scholarships. Under Mahatma Anand Swami Shikshit Beti Mission, ₹4,000 will be granted to students with a single parent, and ₹7,000 to parentless students. The HMV ‘Provide Wings’ Mission will offer 50% scholarship to differently abled students with 50% or more disability, while other cases will be considered on need basis. Mahatma Hans Raj Beti Padao Mission will grant ₹3,000 to single girl child applicants. Mahrishi Dayanand Unnat Beti Mission will provide ₹3,000 to ₹5,000 to economically weaker students based on need, and the HMV Anuja Scholarship will offer ₹3,000 to younger sisters of existing HMV students. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen expressed pride in the institution’s initiatives to both reward academic brilliance and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds. She added that HMV remains committed to ensuring no deserving girl is deprived of education due to financial limitations.
