Under the dynamic
leadership of Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen, Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya,
Jalandhar, continues to strengthen its commitment to digital empowerment and
experiential learning. As part of the DBT Star College Scheme, a hands-on
session on essential computer skills was organized to equip students with
practical knowledge relevant to academics and future careers. Mr. Pardeep
Mehta, Assistant Professor in Computer Science, engaged students in a session
on Google Forms, explaining its application in designing online surveys,
quizzes, and feedback forms. He highlighted the platform’s simplicity,
flexibility, and wide usage in both academic and professional settings. Dr.
Ravinder Mohan Jindal, Associate Professor in Computer Science, provided a
detailed overview of computer hardware and explained the complete working
mechanism of a computer system. He also introduced students to the utility of
PDF documents and demonstrated the use of free productivity tools such as WPS
Office that enhance efficiency on computers and laptops. The session was
effectively coordinated by DBT Coordinator Dr. Anjana Bhatia, who emphasized
the relevance of digital literacy in today’s learning environment. Dr. Sangeeta
Arora, Head of the PG Department of Computer Science, also motivated students
and encouraged them to adopt technology-driven approaches to learning. The
initiative was widely appreciated and reflected HMV’s continued focus on
nurturing 21st-century skills among its students through the DBT Star College
Scheme.
