In a landmark
recognition of leadership in sustainability and education, Principal Dr. Ajay
Sareen of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya (HMV), Jalandhar, was honoured with
the Best Principal Award by the National EduTrust of India at a prestigious
ceremony hosted at Chitkara University, Punjab.The Sustainability Excellence
Awards Ceremony, organized by the National EduTrust of India—a registered body
under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India—celebrated outstanding
contributions in environmental protection, sustainable practices, and
innovation in education. HMV proudly secured multiple accolades, including: Overall
Sustainability Excellence Award (Punjab) Water Guardian Award Green Campus
Award District Green Champion Award Zero Waste Campus Award Additionally, Dr.
Anjana Bhatia was conferred the Best Nodal Officer Award for her exemplary
efforts in spearheading eco-initiatives and promoting green values on campus. The
occasion was enriched by the presence of Guest of Honour, Ar. Jit Kumar Gupta,
a renowned expert with over five decades of contribution in architectural
education, urban planning, sustainability, and smart infrastructure. Mr.
Samarth Sharma, CEO, National EduTrust of India, praised Dr. Sareen and the HMV
faculty for their impactful sustainability programs and their role in inspiring
systemic change within the academic landscape. Dr. Sareen extended her
heartfelt thanks to Dr. Punam Suri, Padma Shri Awardee and President, DAV
College Managing Committee; Sh. Shiv Raman Gaur (IAS Retd.), Director Higher
Education, DAVCMC; Justice N.K. Sud, Chairman, Local Advisory Committee; and
all mentors at DAVCMC for their continuous support and encouragement. She expressed
pride and joy in HMV’s clean sweep of awards and its No. 1 position in Punjab,
reaffirming the institution’s dedication to building a sustainable and
environmentally conscious future.
