The PG Department of
Mass Communication and Video Production at Hans Raj Mahila Mahavidyalaya,
Jalandhar, organized an engaging and enriching Workshop on Photography, aimed
at enhancing students' creative and technical skills in visual storytelling under
the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen on the occasion
of World Photography Day. The workshop was led by acclaimed photography expert
Mr. Karamveer Sandhu, who captivated the audience with his deep knowledge, live
demonstrations, and creative insights into the art and technique of
professional photography. He encouraged students to go beyond just taking
photos—to tell stories, evoke emotions, and see the world through a new lens. Adding
vibrancy to the event, a Photography Exhibition featuring the works of the
students of the department was also organized. The exhibition showcased a wide
range of themes and perspectives—from portraits and landscapes to conceptual
frames—demonstrating the budding talent and artistic expression of the young
photographers. Visitors appreciated the creativity, composition, and
storytelling elements displayed in each photograph. Mr. Karamveer Sandhu was
honoured by Dr. Navroop Kaur, acknowledging his valuable contribution to the
field of photography and his inspiring interaction with the students. Principal
Prof. Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen congratulated the Department and said that such
workshops are important to provide practical insight to the students. The
program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Rama Sharma, who expressed
gratitude to the guest speaker, faculty members, and students for their
enthusiastic participation and support in making the event a resounding
success. The event highlighted Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya’s commitment to
providing practical exposure and fostering creative excellence among its
students.
