The Installation
Ceremony of the Student Council was enthusiastically organized at Hans
Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, under the able guidance of Principal
Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The ceremony commenced with the DAV Gaan, followed by the
formal welcome of the Madam Principal by the faculty members of the Student
Council, led by Dr. Urvashi Mishra, Dean, Student Council.
Further, Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen, along with Dean
Academics Dr. Seema Marwaha and Dean Youth Welfare Dr. Navroop,
welcomed the Chief Guest of the day, former Head Girl Ms. Sakshi Vaid.
Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen addressed the new members of the Student Council,
recognizing the team’s formation as a pivotal moment. She congratulated them
warmly and motivated them to embrace their roles with vision and vigour.
While congratulating the badge recipients, Dr. Sareen also commended the former
Head Girl for her contributions to the college and appreciated her inspiring
journey. She emphasized the importance of leadership, responsibility,
and service to the college community. The Principal further urged the
newly appointed leaders to uphold the institution’s values and work
collaboratively to create a positive and inclusive environment.
Chief Guest Ms. Sakshi Vaid highlighted the importance of teamwork,
responsibility, and humility while holding a position of authority. In
her address, she reflected on her own journey as a student leader, sharing the
challenges, lessons, and personal growth she experienced during her tenure. Her
words served as both guidance and motivation for the new
council members as she urged them to lead by example, listen actively, and be
the voice of their peers. Around 300 students attended the
ceremony. Gurleen Kaur Chana was formally declared the Undergraduate
Head Girl, Kriti as the Postgraduate Head
Girl, and Kamalpreet as Head of the HMV Task
Force. Badges were presented to the Joint Head Girls,
Assistant Head Girls, Task Force Members, Discipline Committee Members,
and Office Bearers of 52 societies. IQAC Coordinator
Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Faculty Heads Mrs. Deepshikha, Dr. Ashmeen
Kaur, Dr. Sangeeta Arora, and Mrs. Meenu Kohli, along with in-charges
of various clubs and societies, graced the occasion. The ceremony concluded
with a Vote of Thanks by Mrs. Savita Mahenderu,
Co-Dean, Student Council, followed by refreshment.
