The
Vedic Adhiyan Society of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, under the able
guidance of Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla and in collaboration with Arya Yuvati
Sabha, organised a Debate and Essay Writing Competition on the life and
teachings of Swami Dayanand Saraswati to mark Rishi Bodh Utsav. The aim of the
event was to acquaint students with the ideological contributions of Swami
Dayanand Saraswati, his reformist vision, and his views on education. The
programme was organised by Dean, Vedic Adhiyan Society, Dr. Mamta and
In charge , Arya Yuvati Sabha, Dr. Meenu Talwar. The event commenced with the
DAV Gaan. The stage was conducted by Mrs. Pawan Kumari. The judges for the
competition were Mrs. Ritu Bajaj from the Department of English and Dr. Jyoti
Gogia, Head of the Department of Hindi. Dr. Mamta highlighted the
significant contribution of Swami Dayanand Saraswati towards nation-building,
Vedic values, and the eradication of social evils. She emphasised that his
ideology continues to guide society even today. The participants delivered
impressive speeches on various aspects of Swami Dayanand Saraswati’s life
philosophy, social reforms, women’s education, nationalism, and Vedic values.
Their confidence, clear expression, and logical presentation left a deep impact
on the audience. Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla congratulated the organising team
and stated that the teachings of Swami Dayanand Saraswati are as relevant today
as they were in his time. She added that the values of truth, education,
equality, and social reform propagated by him form a strong foundation for the
holistic development of the youth. She motivated the students to imbibe his
ideals in their lives and become aware and inspired. In the Debate Competition,
Gurleen secured the first position; Harpreet and Manya stood second; while
Geetanjali and Rukhsar bagged the third position. Tanvi and Janhvi were given
special prizes. In the Essay Writing Competition, Anu Kumari secured the first
position; Lummi and Harpreet stood second; while Sukhmani Kaur and Tanvi
secured the third position. Vamika received the consolation prize and Janhvi
was honoured with the appreciation award. Dr. Mamta congratulated the
winners and expressed her gratitude to all present.
