The HMV Alumnae Welfare Association (Regd.) organized its
much-awaited Alumnae Meet ‘Punarmilan 2026’ with great enthusiasm and nostalgia
in the premises. The event marking the centennial year of HMV was held under
the patronage of Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ekta Khosla with the aim of reconnecting
alumnae and celebrating their remarkable achievements. The event was
meticulously organized under the guidance of Dr. Rashmi Khurana (Patron), Mrs.
Kiranpreet Kaur Dhami (President, HMV Alumnae Association), Vice Presidents
Mrs. Sarojini Gautam Sharda, Mrs. Beenu Rajpoot and Ms. Ramanpreet Kaur,
Advisor Mrs. Binoo Gupta, Secretary Mrs. Savita Mahendru, Joint Secretary Ms.
Harmanu Paul, Treasurer Dr. Kajal Puri, Joint Treasurer Dr. Ramandeep, along
with Mrs. Alka and Mrs. Pawan Kumari. The event commenced with the traditional
lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by the rendition of the DAV Gaan,
setting a graceful tone for the occasion. A galaxy of distinguished alumnae and
eminent personalities graced the event including Dr. Rekha Kalia, Ms. Neeru
Jairath, Dr. Jyoti Khanna, Mrs. Seema Soni, Mrs. Radha Garg, Mrs. Veena Arora,
Mrs. Sarvinder Kaur, Mrs. Gurvinderjit Kaur and Dr. Mrunal Gupta to name a few.
The presence of retired faculty members and pride of HMV Mrs. Bharti Gaur, Dr.
Renuka Bhatti, Dr. Kanwaldeep, Mrs. Santosh Chibbar, Dr. Neelam Jhulka, Mrs.
Nita Mallika, Ms. Saroj Mahajan and Mrs. Kavita Vij added warmth and nostalgia
to the occasion. The dignitaries were accorded a heartfelt welcome. Mrs.
Sarojini Gautam Sharda formally welcomed the gathering and shared that more
than 150 alumnae participated in the meet. She proudly highlighted that HMV
alumnae have excelled across diverse fields and are contributing significantly
to society as IAS, IRS and PCS officers, educationists, principals, chartered
accountants, lawyers and judicial officers. She fondly mentioned illustrious
alumnae like Smt. Sarla Grewal, former Governor of Madhya Pradesh and Principal
Secretary to the Prime Minister of India; Justice Santosh Duggal; Mrs. Sumita
Dawra, IAS; Mrs. Bhawna Garg, IAS; Arjuna Awardees Ms. Manjeet Kaur, Ms. Sunita
Rani and Ms. Harmanpreet Kaur, Captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team; and
Ms. Chanderkanta Kaul, former captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, actors,
Ms. Nimrat Khehra, Ms. Surbhi Jyoti, Mrs. Ginni Kapil. The audience was deeply
moved by the video messages shared by Dr. Rashmi Khurana and Captain Aradhana
Bedi, which rekindled cherished memories and strengthened the emotional bond
with the alma mater. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ekta Khosla appreciated the efforts of the
Alumnae Association and expressed immense pride in the accomplishments of HMV
alumnae. She emphasized that such reunions strengthen the bond between the
institution and its alumni, inspiring present students to follow their
footsteps. She honoured the guests and presented trophies to the best students
of HMV. On this occasion, the Women Empowerment Award was conferred upon
Ms. Sarvinder Kaur, Mrs. Sarojini Gautam Sharda, CA Roopali Kohli and Dr.
Neelam Sethi for their outstanding contributions in their respective fields. A
captivating presentation showcasing the glorious journey and achievements of
HMV alumnae was presented by Mrs. Protima, Mrs. Alka, Mr. Ashish and Ms. Hina
Dheer, which received immense appreciation from the audience. Adding vibrancy
to the event, students presented enthralling cultural performances that
mesmerized everyone. A modelling segment was also organized, judged by Dr.
Kanwaldeep, Mrs. Santosh Chibbar and Dr. Renuka Bhatti, which brought energy
and excitement to the gathering. Various titles were conferred upon
alumnae. Mrs. Veena Arora was given the tag of Golden Alumnae, Mrs.
Kanika was given the tag of Ms. Retro Royalty, Mrs. Gulshan Gautam Wadhwa won
the tag of Ms. Classic Charm, Mrs. Deepika Dua won the tag of Ms. Disco
Dhamaka, Mrs. Meenu Singhal Garg won the tag of Timeless Diva, Mrs. Seerat
Chawla won the tag of Ms. HMV Alumnae Retro 2026. The event was smoothly and
elegantly compered by Dr. Jyoti Gogia, Ms. Kanika Sharma and Ms. Jyoti Sehgal.
The event concluded with vote of thanks by Mrs. Savita Mahendru on a joyous
note with nostalgia, celebration and renewed connections, making Punarmilan
2026 a memorable and heartwarming experience for all.
