Presenting a truly resplendent
and spiritually uplifting spectacle, Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar
organized a grand shatkundiya Mahayajna to commemorate its proud entry into 100
years of its glorious existence. The sacred event, held under the able and
inspiring guidance of Principal Dr. Mrs. Ekta Khosla, transformed the college
premises into a divine haven, beautifully adorned in saffron hues that lent a
profound spiritual aura to the celebrations. The solemn and auspicious occasion
was graced by the esteemed presence of Justice (Retd.) Sh. N.K. Sud,Chairman
LAC, Smt. Arunima Sud, Dr. J.P. Shoor, President, Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi
UpSabha, Punjab, members of the LAC, Principal Inderjit Talwar, Sh. S.P. Sehdev
and Dr. Sushma Chawla, among other distinguished guests. Welcoming the
dignitaries with warmth and reverence, Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla congratulated
the entire HMV family on witnessing this historic and glorious milestone. She
remarked that the institution is truly blessed to stand at the threshold of its
centenary journey, and that everyone associated with HMV is fortunate to be an
eyewitness to such a memorable and momentous occasion. She further stated that
this Mahayajna was the most befitting and meaningful way to celebrate the
institution’s entry into its 100th year, as it symbolized not only celebration
but also purification, positivity, spiritual awakening, and collective
gratitude. The atmosphere was filled with the sacred fragrance of the ahutis,
creating an ambience of divinity, serenity, and tranquility that deeply touched
every heart present. In his message, Justice (Retd.) Sh. N.K. Sud conveyed his
heartiest and best wishes to the entire HMV fraternity and expressed that he
felt deeply honoured and proud to be a part of such magnificent and meaningful
celebrations. Dr. J.P. Shoor felicitated the Principal, staff, and students for
carrying forward a rich legacy of excellence and values. He inspired everyone
to become an “Arya” in the truest sense, one who always strives to be the best.
Metaphorically, he said that the Vat Vriksh planted by the DAV pioneers has
flourished magnificently, spreading its branches far and wide through
institutions like HMV that continue to nurture education rooted in culture,
discipline, and nation-building. Paying heartfelt tribute to Mahatma Hans Raj
Ji, he urged all present to imbibe his ideals of selfless service, dedication,
and commitment to education. Echoing similar sentiments, Principal Inderjit
Talwar spoke about the spirit of nation-building and social responsibility that
has always been at the core of DAV institutions. He appreciated HMV for
carrying forward this sacred mission with distinction and dignity. On this
memorable occasion, the event also witnessed the release of the official 100
Years Logo of HMV, symbolizing a glorious legacy and a visionary future. Adding
further significance to the celebrations, an LED panel was installed and the
college gate was formally inaugurated, marking the beginning of a new chapter
in the institution’s illustrious journey. A Video depicting 100 years of HMV
was also released by the department of Mass Communication and Video Production.
The hymns were recited by Dr. Meenu Talwar, Pandit Jaiparkash and Pandit
Hansraj. The celebrations also featured
a group photograph of around 250 members of the HMV family, capturing a
historic moment of unity, pride, and belonging as the institution stepped into
its centenary year. The event concluded on a deeply spiritual and joyous note
with the recital of Shanti Path, distribution of Prasad, and enthusiastic
cheers of the HMVians, echoing the pride and emotional connection of all
present. Adding melody and grace to the eventful day, the Music Department
infused the celebration with rhythm, devotion, and charm. The programme was
convened by Dr. Mamta , Dean Vedic Sabha and co-convened by Dr. Meenu Talwar,
Incharge Arya Yuvti Sabha. The stage was conducted by Dr. Anjana
Bhatia. The grand Mahayajna stood as a soul-stirring tribute to HMV’s
illustrious past, inspiring present, and promising future, marking the
beginning of its centenary celebrations with spiritual grandeur, cultural
richness, institutional pride, and a renewed commitment to excellence.
