An enlightening and
thought-provoking session was organized at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya under
the visionary guidance of Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ekta Khosla. The MCVP Department
of the institution successfully organised the maiden session of “HMV Spark
Talks” series under the aegis of IQAC, offering students and faculty an
invaluable opportunity to interact with globally acclaimed development
expert Dr. Inder K. Sud. The distinguished speaker for the occasion was
Dr. Inder K. Sud, Retd. Director & Vice President, The World Bank, while
Mr. Y. K. Sud and Mrs. Sushma Sud graced the event as special guests. The
programme commenced with the traditional Saraswati Vandana followed by the DAV
Gaan, illuminating the spirit of knowledge and culture. Principal Dr. Ekta
Khosla warmly welcomed the dignitaries by presenting green planters and tokens
of honour. Dr. Ekta Khosla highlighted that HMV is not merely an educational
institution but a vibrant centre of values, education, women empowerment and
holistic development. She also expressed gratitude towards the DAV Management
Committee, New Delhi, and the LAC for continuously promoting women empowerment
through quality education. She proudly remarked that HMV, while preserving its
glorious 100-year legacy, continues to progress towards becoming one of the
finest institutions of the country. A highly inspiring interactive session was
held for the students wherein Dr. Inder K. Sud shared his valuable experiences
and insights on success, dedication and social responsibility. He stressed that
economic development plays a crucial role in the progress of society and the
nation. Sharing experiences from his personal and professional journey, he
stated that during the past three years after retirement, he devoted himself to
several initiatives for social upliftment and public welfare. Dr. Sud credited
his success to the unwavering support of his parents and teachers who
constantly inspired him to move ahead in life. He described his teachers as his
role models and guiding forces. He also emphasized the importance of
surrounding oneself with hardworking and like-minded people. Inspiring the
students, he remarked, “The harder I work, the luckier I feel.” He encouraged
students to move ahead in life with discipline, determination and sincere
effort. The session proved to be highly enriching and motivational for the
students, who enthusiastically interacted with the speaker and sought guidance
on various aspects of life and career. To make the programme culturally vibrant
and entertaining, the Music Department presented soulful folk and solo songs,
while students also showcased mimicry and a graceful classical dance
performance. Mr. Y. K. Sud expressed gratitude and appreciated the positive
energy and vibrant atmosphere of the institution. He encouraged students to
work diligently for a bright and successful future. The entire programme was
organized under the coordination of Dr. Seema Marwaha and Dr. Anjana Bhatia,
and convened by Dr. Rama Sharma, while the stage proceedings were efficiently
conducted by Dr. Anjana Bhatia. Among those present were Dr. Navroop Kaur, Dr.
Ashmeen Kaur, Mrs. Kuljit Kaur, Mrs. Arvinder Kaur (School Coordinator),
faculty members and students of the institution.
