HMV Organised Three-Day ‘Kala te Kalam’ Cultural Exhibition


 

Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, under the guidance of Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ekta Khosla and the motivation of Dr. Navroop, Head, P.G. Department of Punjabi, successfully organised a three-day cultural exhibition titled “Kala te Kalam.” The event was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The exhibition aimed to foster cultural awareness among students and provide them with a platform to showcase their creativity and artistic expression. Students presented a variety of exhibits reflecting various aspects of Punjabi culture. Traditional attire, folk art, handcrafted items, and heritage artefacts captivated the visitors. The exhibition also offered insights into the richness and diversity of Punjabi heritage, history, and literature. Appreciating the efforts of the Punjabi Department, the Principal remarked that such initiatives are essential for the holistic development of students and encouraged them to actively participate in creative pursuits in the future. On the second day, faculty and students from various departments visited the exhibition and shared their valuable feedback. The third day witnessed the presence of eminent guests including poet Mr. Biba Balwant, Mr. Harjeet (Punjab Arts Council, Chandigarh), and diasporic writer Mrs. Paramjeet Deol. They enjoyed the exhibits and lauded the students for their creativity and dedication. Dr. Navroop, Head of the Punjabi Department, highlighted that Punjabi literature and culture are integral to our identity and preserving them is a collective responsibility. She also extended special thanks to the M.A. Semester IV students whose dedication and efforts made the exhibition a grand success. To add vibrancy to the event, a Kavi Darbar was organised, where poets including Mr. Biba Balwant, Mrs. Paramjeet Deol, Dr. Navroop, Mrs. Kuljeet Kaur, Dr. Mamta, Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda, and Dr. Sandeep Kaur recited their poems. Dr. Mandeep Kaur, while sharing her views, appreciated such initiatives as commendable efforts to reconnect the youth with their cultural values.  Mrs. Sukhwinder Kaur, Ms. Simranjeet, Ms. Amanpreet, and Ms. Mandeep Kaur  from Punjabi Department along with the faculty members from other departments formed a part of  the exhibition. The stage was conducted by Mrs. Kuljeet Kaur, who also delivered the vote of thanks.
