The HMV Alumni Welfare Association (Regd.), Hans Raj Mahila Maha
Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, successfully organized a unique campaign titled “Guardians
of Life – One Plant in Mother’s Name” on the occasion of World
Environment Day under the guidance of Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla. The initiative
aimed to promote environmental conservation while expressing gratitude and
respect towards mother and mother nature. As part of the campaign, HMV alumnae
planted fruit-bearing saplings in the college campus in the name of their
mothers. These plants were dedicated as a tribute to the love, affection,
sacrifice, and blessings of mothers and will serve as a symbol of greenery and
a positive message for future generations. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ekta Khosla
inaugurated the campaign by planting a fruit-bearing sapling in her mother’s
name and inspired everyone by saying that World Environment Day not
only reminds us of our responsibility towards nature but also inspires us to
express gratitude towards the individuals who have enriched our lives with
values. Planting a tree in the name of one’s mother is a heartfelt tribute
to her love and sacrifices. She congratulated the organizers, Mrs.
Binoo Gupta, Dr. Ramandeep and Dr. Sakshi, for the successful execution of the
event. On this occasion, Dean Academics Dr. Seema Marwaha, Advisor Youth
Welfare Dr. Navroop Kaur, Dean Youth Welfare Dr. Ashmeen Kaur, and Mrs. Deepshikha
also planted saplings in the names of their mothers as a gesture of gratitude
and respect. The event was organized by Advisor Mrs. Binoo Gupta under the banner of HMV Alumni Welfare Association. The organizing
team included President Dr. Sarojini Gautam Sharda, Vice President Ms.
Ramandeep, Secretary Mrs. Savita Mahendru, Joint Secretary Ms. Harmanu,
Treasurer Dr. Kajal Puri, and Joint Treasurer Dr. Ramandeep. The initiative
highlighted the importance of environmental conservation, maternal respect, and
social responsibility. The campaign slogan, “Your Tree, Your Gratitude,
Their Legacy,” beautifully reflected the harmonious bond between love
for nature and gratitude towards mothers. The office bearers of the HMV Alumni
Welfare Association expressed their gratitude to all alumnae for their
enthusiastic participation and valuable contribution towards environmental
sustainability. Advisor Mrs. Binoo Gupta thanked all the members for their
gracious presence and support. She remarked, that every sapling will
become a lasting legacy of greenery, love, and values for generations to come. Dr. Urvashi, Mrs.
Alka, Dr. Pawan, Dr. Shailendra, Mr. Ravi Kumar and Ms.
Harpreet also joined in making the event meaningful and memorable.
