Martyrdom Day of Shaheed Sardar Udham Singh Ji commemorated at HMV


 

Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya Jalandhar organized an event to commemorate the Martyrdom Day of Shaheed Sardar Udham Singh Ji, paying tribute to his supreme sacrifice, bravery, and patriotism. The event was organized by the Student Council and the Department of Political Science under the able guidance of Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ekta Khosla. She highlighted that the life of Shaheed Sardar Udham Singh Ji is an example of selfless patriotism, and determination. She urged the students to imbibe the values of integrity, dedication, and national service, emphasizing that the youth have a vital role in preserving the ideals of our freedom fighters and contributing towards building a strong and progressive nation. The event was anchored by Archita Magotra (B.A. Semester V). Bhawna (M.A. Political Science, Semester III) delivered a speech on the life, struggles, and legacy of Shaheed Sardar Udham Singh Ji, telling about his dedication and contribution to India's freedom struggle. This was followed by a patriotic poem presented by Benika Manhas (B.A. Semester V). During the discussion session, Arshdeep (B.Sc. Biotechnology) and Akanshi (B.A. Semester V) shared their views on freedom fighters and the role of youth in nation-building. Diya Sharma (B.A. Semester V) emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in the system, while Noorjot Kaur (B.Sc. Medical, Semester III) spoke about becoming responsible citizens by bringing positive changes in society, starting from our homes. Anantika (B.B.A. Semester III) highlighted the issue of corruption and its impact on society, while Tanvi (B.A. Semester III) shared her thoughts on freedom fighters and the development of the country. The event concluded with a patriotic poem presented by Simranjeet Kaur (B.A. Semester V).  It inspired students to remember the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and encouraged them to uphold the values of patriotism, responsibility, and social commitment while contributing positively towards the nation's progress. The event was coordinated by Dr. Urvashi Mishra, Dean Student Council, and Mrs. Alka Sharma, Head, Department of Political Science. Mrs. Jiwan Devi was also present on the occasion and encouraged the students to remain inspired by the lives and sacrifices of the great martyrs.
