“Managing Across Generations”: HMV’s Commerce Club Organises Insightful Seminar

 


The Commerce Club of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, under the dynamic leadership of Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ekta Khosla, organized an insightful seminar on the theme "Managing Across Generations: Redefining the Modern Workplace." Ms. Richa Sodhi, Senior Key Account Executive at Nestlé India Ltd., Mumbai, and a proud alumna of the PG Department of Commerce, graced the occasion as the resource person. Ms. Meenu Kohli, Head, PG Department of Commerce and Management, formally welcomed Ms. Sodhi and introduced the theme of the seminar to the gathering. She expressed immense pride in welcoming back her former student as a resource person and fondly recalled Ms. Sodhi's outstanding balance of academic excellence, extracurricular involvement and leadership roles during her college days. In her address, Ms. Richa Sodhi encouraged students to engage actively, ask questions and explore the diverse opportunities available to them. She emphasized discipline, continuous upskilling, self-reinvention, adaptability and empathy as essential qualities for thriving in today's multigenerational workplace. Drawing upon her rich professional experience, she motivated students to become future-ready by cultivating strong character, personality and a foster mindset. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ekta Khosla congratulated the Department of Commerce and Management for organizing such a thought-provoking session and lauded the initiative for bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. Dr. Khosla emphasized that seminars of this nature equip students with practical insights that go beyond textbooks, enabling them to understand real workplace dynamics before they step into their professional careers. Dr. Seema Khanna, Incharge, Commerce Club, proposed the vote of thanks. The proceedings of the seminar were conducted by Dr. Kajal Puri, along with student coordinator Ms. Manya Taneja. Faculty members from the department of Commerce viz. Mrs. Binoo Gupta, Mrs. Anchal Mahajan, Mrs. Kanika Sharma and Ms. Ritu were also present on the occasion. Students of B.Com, B.Com (FS), B.Voc. (BFS), B.Voc. (E-Commerce & Digital Marketing) and BBA Semester I attended the seminar and gained valuable insights from the session.
