The
concluding ceremony of the Vedic Prachar Week, organised by the Vedic Prachar
Parishad was held with enthusiasm and spiritual fervour at Hans Raj Mahila Maha
Vidyalaya, Jalandhar. The week-long programme aimed at acquainting the students
with the teachings of the Vedas, Indian culture, ethical values and moral
conduct. The ceremony began with the chanting of Vedic mantras and a havan
yajna, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere. Shri J. P. Shoor, President
Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi UpSabha Punjab was the chief guest, while Vice
President DAVCMC & Chairman LAC Justice (Retd) Shri N. K. Sood, Secretary
DAVCMC Shri Ajay Goswami, and Co-Pattern Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi UpSabha
Punjab Shri Kundan Lal Aggarwal attended the event as special guests. Following
the institution’s tradition, Principal and Mantri Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi
UpSabha Punjab Dr. (Mrs) Ekta Khosla welcomed the guests by presenting them
green planters. Addressing the gathering, chief guest Shri J. P. Shoor
highlighted the significance of the Arya Samaj and the Vedas. He said that the
Vedas are not merely religious texts but an important source of knowledge that
inspires human beings to follow the path of truth, knowledge, duty, service and
moral conduct. He urged the younger generation to remain connected with their
cultural roots and incorporate Vedic values into their lives. Shri Kundan Lal
Aggarwal spoke about the significance of Swami Dayanand Saraswati and his
contribution to women’s education. Shri Ajay Goswami elaborated on the
principles of Arya Samaj and encouraged the students to imbibe these principles
in their lives. Shri N.K. Sood expressed gratitude to the students, faculty
members and organizers and appreciated the efforts of the Vedic Prachar Week
Committee. Principal Dr Ekta Khosla appreciated the initiative of the Vedic
Prachar Parishad and observed that such programmes play an important role in
the intellectual, moral and cultural development of students. She encouraged
the students to make the values of truth, non-violence, service, discipline and
humanity an integral part of their lives. During the programme, the
participants were also apprised of the activities and initiatives undertaken by
the Vedic Prachar Parishad for the promotion of Vedic thoughts. Students
participated actively and displayed keen interest in and awareness of Vedic
philosophy. On this occasion, participating students and contributors were
honoured for their involvement. The organizers expressed gratitude to the
college management, faculty, students and all those who contributed to the
successful conduct of the programme. The concluding ceremony conveyed the
message that along with modern education, students should remain connected with
their cultural heritage and uphold high moral values. The programme was
organised under the supervision of Dr. Jyoti Gogia, Head, PG Department of
Hindi, and Dr Meenu Talwar, Head, Department of Sanskrit. Dr. Pawan Kumari and
Dr. Deepti Dhir from the Hindi Department, along with members of the teaching
and non-teaching staff, were also present.
