A Prize Distribution Function “Achievers’
Day” was organized in Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya to motivate the
meritorious students of the institution and the staff members on 24th Sept., 2015. Prof. H. Devaraj, Vice Chairman, UGC New Delhi was the honourable
chief guest of the occasion. Justice
N.K. Sud, Chairman, LMC was also marked by his august presence. The programme began with the recital of Ved
Mantras and lighting of the lamp.
Principal Dr. Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj gave a floral welcome to the chief
guest. She presented a brief report of
the institution focussing on its highlights and achievements. HMV has been recognized as Centre of
Excellence by UGC. The Principal
described Prof. H. Devaraj as a conscientious man who combines knowledge with
humanity. 25 First university
position holders and 22 second university positions holders were honored
for their academic achievements. 3
International players - recipients of Gold Medal and Bronze
Medals were also honoured. The
College News Bulletin ‘The HMV News’ was also released on the occasion.
Prof.
H. Devaraj emphasized that an uncompromising pursuit of excellence in his
philosophy and excellence is a perception, a limitless ladder. He described Madam Principal as a role model
for endurance and perseverance. He
appreciated the institution for its optimal use of funds because of the right
mindset. He focussed on women empowerment,
and the need for a knowledge corridor which could provide sustainable
development for far-reaching benefits.
In the name of development, one should not lose one’s culture and
heritage.
Folk
Dance, Ghazal, Bhajan, Sufi Song ‘Allah Hoo’, Folk Orchestra and Kawaali were
some of the cultural items presented. The
chief guest along with other guests took round of the college and they also
visited Heritage Centre ‘Sada Virsa Sada Maan’.
Among those present were Sh. S.N. Mayor, Sh. Kundan Lal Aggarwal, Dr.
Sushma Chawla, Principal Veena Wiliams, Principal H.K. Sood, Principal G.S.
Samra, Advocate Sh. Ashok Paruthi and Sh. Devendra Bhardwaj. The stage was conducted by Dr. Jasbir
Rishi. A vote of thanks was given by
Justice N.K. Sud, Chairman Local Committee.
