A one day seminar on ‘Radio Reporting’ was organized by
Department of Mass Communication and Video Production at Hans Raj Mahila Maha
Vidyalaya. The resource person for the
seminar was Rajesh Bali, Sr. Staff Correspondent, All India Radio,
Jalandhar. He addressed tot the student
of Diploma in Journalism and Media. During the session, he educated students on
the difference of radio reporting and reporting for other print mediums. He told that radio is a ‘now’ medium, so
every news bulletin needs to be updated according to the situation. He also explained that working for a public
broadcast, is a responsible job, one needs to maintain credibility and trust of
listeners and sources. He shared his
experiences for working in AIR. Mr. Bali
also played recording of his various assignments for Prime Minister’s foreign
visits. He enlightened that different
events are reported with different approach and one needs to alter from time to
time depending on the situation. The
students felt enriched after the session.
They also cleared their doubts and questions on various aspects of radio
reporting. Principal Dr. Rekha Kalia
Bhardwaj expressed her delight on the efforts of Mass Communication and Video
Production department. Mrs. Rama Sharma,
HOD told that the department has been continuously organizing lectures and
seminars for the students, so that they can develop themselves from the
experiences of the professionals. During
the session Ms. Chetandeep conducted the stage.
