Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya is offering
two years Advance Diploma in Fashion Designing (ADFD) under Community College
scheme of UGC. On Thursday, the students of third semester were given scholarships
as per the guidelines of the University Grants Commission. Principal Prof. Dr.
(Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated the students and faculty members for
successful completion of third semester. The students who got scholarships were
Babita Bhatti, Shalu, Sharandeep Kaur, Priya, Gurpreet Kaur, Shailja, Manpreet
Kaur, Paramjeet Kaur, Ritu, Kawaljit Kaur, Prabhjot Kaur, Manmeet Kaur, Aarti,
Sarpreet Kaur, Navdeep Kaur, Anjali Arora, Ramandeep Kaur, Alisha, Kiran Talwar
and Simranpreet Kaur. On this occasion, Head of Fashion Designing department
Mrs. Cheena and course Co-ordinator Mrs. Navneeta were present. Principal Dr.
Sareen told that the eligibility for ADFD is +2 pass in any stream and age is
no bar. A female of any age can take admission in this course. The students of
this course are awarded with scholarships after completion of each semester.
For this course, the college has signed MOU’s with various reputed fashion
industries for the imparting practical training to the students and their
placements. This is a two year course in which certificate is awarded for six
months duration, diploma is awarded for one year duration and advance diploma
is awarded for two years complete course. After the completion of the course,
the student can work in fashion industry or she can work independently as
fashion designer. Principal Dr. Sareen said that college has the best of the
infrastructure in fashion designing department for the students.
