Students of M.Sc. Bioinformatics Semester-IV of Hans Raj
Mahila Maha Vidyalaya learned latest cutting edge computational approaches
during their Major Research Projects. These students work on a diversity of
projects covering recent research areas including biomedical text mining, machine
learning, analysis of genomic variations microRNA data analysis, molecular
networks, system biology molecular dynamics and simulations, virtual screening
and computer aided drug designing. Seven of these students completed their
projects in research Institutes of International repute including Indian
Institute of Science, Bangalor; CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource
Technology, Palampur and National Agri-Biotechnology Institute, Mohali.
Principal Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen congratulated the students and the Faculty
members for setting such high research standards in the Department. Head of the
Department Mr. Harpreet Singh told that since the inclusion of Major Research
project in their curriculum, many of the students of M.Sc Bioinformatics have
been getting chance to work with eminent scientists from top research
institutes. On this occasion Mrs. Nikita Sharma and Ms. Ritika Raheja, Faculty
members; and Mr. Arvind Chandi, Technical Assistant were also present.
