International Human Rights Day celebrated at HMV

International Human Rights Day was celebrated at HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School by the department of Political Science.  The chief guest of the day was Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen.  While addressing the students, Dr. Sareen said that Human Rights are based on the Principles of Human Solidarity, Cooperation and Development.   She said that universal declaration of human rights is a milestone document that proclaimed the inalienable rights which everyone is inherently entitled to as human being, regardless of race, colour, religion, birth, etc.  Mrs. Meenakshi Syal, School Coordinator said that we should not only enjoy all our rights but also perform our duties.  Head of Pol. Sc. department Mrs. Nita Malik said that International Human Rights Day is turning 70.  It is the day, i.e. 10th December, 1948, when United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

            All teachers and students paid tribute to those brave soldiers who lost their lives the terrorist attack on Indian Parliament on 13th December, 2001.  The students of SSC I and II of all streams presented paper.  The students were Raunik, Puneet Mittal, Kritgyata, Nikkita, Neha, Navdeep, Divya and Meghna.  Mrs. Nita Malik also responded in detail the queries of the students.  Dr. Jivan Devi gave vote of thanks.  On this occasion, Mrs. Alka Sharma, Ms. Bharti were also present.  The function ended with National Anthem.
