Health Awareness Seminar on HINI Virus in HMV

Health Awareness Seminar on Swine Flu (HINI Virus) was organized under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen by department of Zoology and Botany of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya in collaboration with Civil Hospital, Jalandhar.  Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, Dr. Seema Marwaha and Dr. Anjana Bhatia extended green welcome to Dr. Satish Kumar, District Medical Officer and Dr. Shobhna Bansal, IDST who were the resource persons of the day.  Dr. Satish enlightened the students about the abbreviation of HINI used along swine flu, its mode of transmission, symptoms and precautions to be followed.  He emphasized on personal hygiene, household cleanliness which are small measures that can be very useful in preventing breeding ground of mosquito which are vectors for swine flu.  S. Manjit Singh demonstrated the five step rules for washing hands as recommended by WHO as we touch multiple things through which we can get infection.  Dr. Shobhna Bansal informed that facility for confirmatory test is only available in Chandigarh, Patiala and Ludhiana.  If it is positive then one should cover the face with cotton dupatta throughout to avoid transfer or spread of virus to others through sneezing.  Mr. Naresh Kumar, Multipurpose Help Supervisor distributed brochure to students that contained detailed information about swine flu and major precautions to be followed to avoid contagious infection.  Dr. Shobhna also thanked the faculty members for conducting awareness seminar for the students.  Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen appreciated the efforts of Zoology and Botany department for organizing awareness seminar in the college premises, which is need of the hour.  Dr. Ramandeep Kaur, Dr. Sakshi Verma, Ms. Avantika Randev, Ms. Harpreet Kaur, Ms. Anchal Bawa, Mr. Arvind Chandi, Mr. Sachin Kumar and Mr. Amit Kumar were also present on this occasion.

ਹੰਸ ਰਾਜ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਮਹਾਵਿਦਿਆਲਿਆ ਨੇ ਜੁਲਾੱਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਟਨੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਿਵਿਲ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਸਵਾਇਨ ਫ (ਐਚ.1 ਐਨ.1) ਵਾਇਰਸ ਤੇ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਡਾ. ਅਜੇ ਸਰੀਨ, ਡਾ. ਸੀਮਾ ਮਰਵਾਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਅੰਜਨਾ ਭਾਟੀਆ ਨੇ ਰਿਸੋਰਸ ਪਰਸਨ ਡਾ. ਸਤੀਸ਼ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਜ਼ਿਲ•ਾ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਆਫ਼ਿਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਸ਼ੋਭਨਾ ਬਾਂਸਲ (ਆਈ.ਡੀ.ਐਸ.ਟੀ) ਦਾ ਪਲਾਂਟਰ ਭੇਟ ਕਰ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਡਾ. ਸਤੀਸ਼ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਵਾਇਨ ਫ ਵਾਇਰਸ ਦੇ ਹਸਤਾਂਤਰਣ, ਲੱਖਣਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਵਧਾਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਗਤ ਸਵੱਛਤਾ, ਘਰ ਦੀ ਸਾਫ਼ ਸਫਾਈ ਆਦਿ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਮੱਛਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਰਗਰ ਸਿੱਧ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਮੱਛਰ ਵੀ ਸਵਾਇਨ ਫ ਦੇ ਵੈਕਟਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਰਦਾਰ ਮਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਡਬਲਯੂ.ਐਚ.ਓ. ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦੱਸੇ ਗਏ ਹੱਥ ਧੋਣ ਦੇ ਪੰਜ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਸ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੁੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਇਨਫੈਕਸ਼ਨ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਡਾ. ਸੋਭਨਾ ਬਾਂਸਲ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਪੁਸ਼ਟੀਕਾਰਕ ਟੈਸਟ ਕੇਵਲ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ•, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਅਤੇ «ਧਿਆਣਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਪਲੱਬਧ ਹੈ। ਅਗਰ ਇਹ ਟੈਸਟ ਪਾਜ਼ਿਟਿਵ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਕੋਟਨ ਦੇ ਦੁਪਟੇ ਨਾਲ ਢੱਕ ਕੇ ਰਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਕਿ ਖਾਂਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਛਕ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਵਾਇਰਸ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਤਕ ਨਾ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ। ਮਲਟੀਪਰਪਸ ਹੈਲਪ ਸੁਪਰਵਾਇਜ਼ਰ ਨਰੇਸ਼ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਵਾਇਨ ਫ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਵਿਵਰਣਿਕਾ ਵਿਤਰਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਡਾ. ਅਜੇ ਸਰੀਨ ਨੇ ਜੁਲਾੱਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਟਨੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੀ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਅਵਸਰ ਤੇ ਰਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਡਾ. ਸਾਕਸ਼ੀ ਵਰਮਾ, ਅਵੰਤਿਕਾ, ਹਰਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਕੌਰ, ਆਂਚਲ ਬਾਵਾ, ਅਰਵਿੰਦ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਸਚਿਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਿਤ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।
