Women
have broken through glass ceilings since the advent of 20th century
and crafted many a success stories to their credit. They make an evergrowing percentage of
programmes initiated in different sectors but a gender gap still remains in
many fields. Their potential yet need to
be tapped to the fullest and in such an attempt to leverage the widest possible
range of ideas in science and technology, the Equal Opportunity Cell of Hans
Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya is organizing a National Seminar in Increasing
Participation of Women in Science and Technology on March 16, 2019. The one of its kind this seminar is being
organized in collaboration with National Commission For Women, Govt. of India.
The
keynote address in the seminar will be delivered by Dr. Vinita Advisor, DST.
Dr. H.S. Bhalla, Deputy Director DPI(C)Pb. and Dr. Purnima Sharma, Biotech
Consortium will grace the occasion as honourable guests. There will be a special session for the
presentation of papers by young scientists.
Two special sessions for the presentation of papers in Emerging Scholar
category will be held separately for postgraduate and undergraduate
students. Another session will be
dedicated to the budding scientists of school.
Awards will be given to best scientific write-ups on the topic
‘Contribution of Science in improving the quality of lives of women’. There will also be a Best Poster competition
to be adjudged in four categories.

20ਵÄ ਸ਼ਤਾਬਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਿਲਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੱਚ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੰਧਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਫਲਤਾਵਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਲਿਖੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਭਿੰਨ-ਭਿੰਨ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਿਲਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਕਈ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰਮ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਕਿੱਥੇ-ਕਿੱਥੇ ਲਿੰਗ ਅੰਤਰ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਯੋਗਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ•ਾਂ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਪੂਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਹੰਸ ਰਾਜ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਮਹਾਵਿਦਿਆਲਿਆ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਅਵਸਰ ਸੈਲ ਦੇ ਵਲੋਂ ‘‘ਸਾਇੰਸ ਐਂਡ ਟੈਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਿਲਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੱਧ ਰਹੀ ਭਾਗਦਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਤੇ 16 ਮਾਰਚ ਨੂੰ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਕਮੀਸ਼ਨ ਫ਼ਾਰ ਵੂਮੈਨ, ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇੇ ਸੰਯੋਗ ਤੱਤਵਾਵਧਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਡਾ. ਅਜੇ ਸਰੀਨ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ ਦਾ ਕੀਨੋਟ ਐਡਰੇਸ ਡੀ.ਐਸ.ਟੀ. ਦੀ ਐਡਵਾਇਜ਼ਰ ਡਾ. ਵਿਨੀਤਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੂਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਏਗਾ। ਡੀ.ਪੀ.ਆਈ. ਦੇ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਡਾ. ਐਚ.ਐਸ. ਭੱਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਪੂਰਣੀਮਾ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਬਤੌਰ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ। ਯੂਵਾ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਿਕਾਂ ਦੇੇ ਪ੍ਰਪਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੂਤੀਕਰਣ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾਂ ਪੋਸਟ ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਅਤੇ ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਸਕਾਲਰ ਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਪੱਤਰ ਪੜ•ਨ ਦਾ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਸਤਰ ਦੇ ਬਡਿੰਗ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਿਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਤਮ ਨਵੇਂ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਰਸ´ਿਤ ਵੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਪੋਸਟਰ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਯੋਗਿਤਾ ਵੀ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਭ ਤੋਂ ਵਧੀਆ ਪੋਸਟਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਡਾ. ਸਰੀਨ ਨੇ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ ਦੇ ਕੋਆਰਡੀਨੇਟਰ ਡਾ. ਅੰਜਨਾ ਭਾਟੀਆ, ਕਨਵੀਨਰ ਡਾ. ਸੀਮਾ ਮਰਵਾਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਗੇਨਾਇਜ਼ਿੰਗ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
