To enable the
students to build closer bonds with their friends, experience new environments
and enjoy a day off from the classroom, an educational tour to Gobindgarh Fort
and Haveli, Amritsar was organized by HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School. The trip
was organized under the amiable guidance of Principal Dr.(Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and
the direction of school co-ordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal. The students visited
Gobindgarh Fort, right in the heart of Amritsar city, which is a magnificent
heritage site with the glorious history of its own. The students enjoyed 7D
show, depicting the history of Sikh Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Students also
visited “Toshkhanna” coin museum including the old and rare collection of coins
and replica of the Kohinoor. Another museum the students visited was The
Ancient Warfare Museum, which had several replicas of instruments and attires
of warfare and lifelike figurines, they seem, they would come alive if touched.
Students enthralled on the beats of live music and cultural performances.
Thereafter, students visited Visarat Haveli located at outskirts of city. The
rich culture of Punjab was well depicted in the ambience and students had fun
and joyful moments while reaping the rich harvest of memories by clicking
pictures at this advantageous location. The faculty members Ms. Jaspreet Kaur
(Eng Deptt.) and Ms. Divya Chadha (Home Sci. Deptt.) accompanied the students
in the trip.
