The PG department
of Punjabi of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized International Webinar in
collaboration with Punjabi Lekhak Manch, Vancouver. The topic of the webinar
was “Career opportunities in Punjabi Language”. The college is organizing
International webinars under Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the college. In
this first webinar of the series, around 400 participants participated who were
teachers, research scholars and students of various universities. The main
speakers of this webinar were Dr. Darya, Head, Punjabi Adhyan School, Guru
Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Sh. Manga Basi, renowned Punjabi writer from
Canada and Dr. Parveen Kumar, Assistant Professor, Punjab University,
Chandigarh.
International
Webinars Coordinator Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda welcomed all the resource persons
and Gayatri Mantra was recited. Principal Prof. Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen welcomed
the resource persons and congratulated the organizers for choosing such a good
topic for the webinar. Head of Punjabi Department Mrs. Navroop Kaur gave a
presentation of the department. Dr. Darya talked about Punjabi language in the
field of education, journalism and civil services and said that Punjabi
language is expanding its wings at global level. Renowned Punjabi writer from
Canada Sh. Manga Basi told about various career opportunities in Punjabi in
India and in Canada. Dr. Parveen Kumar told about Punjabi Language keeping in
view the government policies. Mrs. Kuljit Kaur thanked all the participants,
IQAC coordinator Dr. Kanwaldeep Kaur, Webinar coordinator Dr. Ramnita Saini
Sharda and technical team. Faculty members of Punjabi Department Mrs. Veena
Arora, Mrs. Satinder Kaur, Dr. Sandeep Kaur, Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Ms. Manpreet
Kaur and Ms. Pawandeep Kaur were also present.
