World Book and Copyright Day celebrated multifariously by HMV IIC and IPR Cell



The Innovation Council of HMV celebrated the World Book and Copyright Day on a productive, creative and an energetic note under the dynamism of Prinicipal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Incharge, IIC and IPR Cell.  To begin with, the Student and faculty members of IIC attended an informative talk streamed live on Youtube by MHRD Innovation Council on the topic “From your PH.D/ Master’s Thesis to a Start Up. The Resource Person was Dr. Anil Deshpande, Founder and CMD, Persistent Systems, Session Chair was Prof. Anil Sahashrabuddhe, Chairman AICTE with Dr. M.P. Poonia, Vice Chairman, AICTE, Prof. Rajiv Kumar, Member Secretary, AICTE and Dr. Abhay Jere, Chief innovation Officer, MoE’s innovation Cell as distinguished Guests of Honour.  Dr. Anil delivered a detailed talk on converting the idea of research into entrepreneurship. He focused that business always starts from an idea and the research ideas developed while pursuing doctoral or master degree can be further extended practically into business by following a systematic process. This also makes the research ideas and the purpose of writing dissertations beneficial to the society in the real sense. He linked the idea development with the process of Lean Manufacturing based on the concept of reduction of waste. Similar is the process of putting ideas into practical shape by making adequate and best possible use of available resources. The focus of education is not sole academics but to promote creativity and generation of ideas among youngsters. Addressing the Innovation team of the institution, Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen reinforced the vision of United Nations Organization that books act as a window to the world during COVID-19. Especially, now more than ever, at a time when globally, educational institutions are closed for offline teaching and students have more time to cultivate the habit of reading books. The power of books can be leveraged to combat isolation, to reinforce ties between relations and to expand their horizons, while stimulating their minds and creativity. Dr. Anjana Bhatia informed that the goal of World Book and Copyright Day is to promote reading, publishing and protecting intellectual property around the world. IIC members Lt. Sonia Mahendru, Dr. Rakhi Mehta, Mrs. Lovleen, Mrs. Navneeta, Mrs. Alka, Dr. Meenakshi Duggal Mehta, Mr. Ashish Chadha, Mr. Vidhu Vohra, Mr. Rishabh Dhir, Mrs. Protima Mander, Dr. Simmi, Ms. Harpreet and Dr. Jaspreet formed a part of the celebrations along with the students.
