Earth Day celebrated at HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School

 



The zeal and pristinity speaks charismatically in the premises of HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School, Jalandhar on the occasion of Earth Day celebration under the dynamic leadership of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen.  The event was commenced with the lightning of the lamp.  Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen and faculty members of HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School planted the saplings and wore green dresses to reinforce the theme “Restore our Earth”

Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen averred the need to save Earth.  She realistically conveyed that in HMV Earth Day is not just one day celebration, it is the routine as 70 to 80% of HMV’s area is preserved as Green Belt.  She persuaded every member of HMV family to plant trees on their birthdays in HMV premises as it creates a sense of oneness with the institution. She praised the Eco-friendly garden maintained by HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School which speaks of Innovation and creativity.

School Co-ordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Syal focused on the remarkable message of “Each One Plant One.” She elaborated that it is our duty not only to plant the sapling but also to nourish it. Her spoken words conveyed the absolute truth that plantation makes the surroundings appealing and at the same time gives positivity in galore. She sprouted in us an inspiration to plant trees on birthdays as she herself follows it and recently planted 21 trees on her birthday.

She appreciated the efforts of all the students for joining the cause and participated vigourously  in the event “One Minute Video Message” which was adjudged by Mrs. Rama Sharma, Head of Multimedia Department and Ms. Pahul, Department of Biology. The next event in this series was Digital Poster Making Competition. This event was adjudged by Ms. Richa, Commece Department and Ms. Gurpreet,Fine Arts Department.

The stage was conducted by Dr. Meenu Talwar. This event was also joined by                 Mr. Pankaj Jyoti, Supdt. Accounts, Mr. Lakhwinder Singh, Supdt. General-I and Mr. Ravi Maini, Supdt. Admn. The event was culminated with the pledge taken by all to make our environment pure and plastic free.
