Chandrayaan Vipnet Club of PG Department of Physics of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar celebrated Earth Day under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The Resource Person of the event was Dr. Lalit M. Bharadwaj President, RML Consultancy & Fabrication and Former Vice president Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen welcomed the guest and emphasized on the need to conserve environment in the present scenario and to restore our earth so that we can give our future generations a better place to live. Mrs. Saloni Sharma, Head Physics Department appraised the students about the event. Dr. Lalit M. Bharadwaj motivated the students to come forward and make use of new technology to change the problems into opportunities. He informed the students about different technologies like Green Technology, Green Materials, Green Manufacturing and Nanotechnology and how we can use them to restore our earth. Also, he motivated the students to undertake Research Projects in these fields and bring India to No. 1 Position. On this day, Poster Making and PPT Competitions were also organized. Around 150 students of various institutes participated in the event. Dr. Nitika Kapoor from Botany Department and Dr. Vandana Thakur from Chemistry Department were the Judges of the PPT and Poster Making Competition. In the PPT Competition, Ms. Isha Thakur bagged first prize, Ms. Gauri Jindal got 2nd prize while Ms. Renuka won third prize. Sahibpreet Kaur got Consolation prize. In poster making Competition, Ms. Kiranpreet Kaur won first prize while second prize is bagged by Ms. Harleen Kaur. Third prize is shared by Ekta and Harshita. Muktansha got consolation prize. On this occasion Sh. Sushil Kumar, Mrs. Simmi, Mr. Ankush and Dr. Sunil Kumar were also present.
