The Faculty and Students of HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School took the pledge to ‘Keep Jalandhar Plastic Free’

 


Declared as Green Champion by Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya always strives to provide value oriented skill based and globally competent education in syne with Nation’s March towards Sustainable Growth and Prosperity under the sagacious and dynamic leadership of Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen.  In this string of maintaining sustainable balance of the surroundings and creating insightful amongst the masses about our environment, the faculty and the students of HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School took a pledge to ‘Make Jalandhar Plastic Free’ on virtual platform with exemplary zeal.  In order to give this pledge a concrete shape the students sent E-mails to the concerned leaders mentioning the grave consequence of using plastic as it is non-biodegradable and stays in soil for centuries.  The students mentioned in the mail the pathetic and horrid situation shown not only with the extinction of animals but also of dreadful diseases which engulf the human beings as micro-plastics are new eaten by them through the food they consume.  They emphasized to enforce the ban on all plastic bags stringently and to save Punjab from Plastic suffocation for the future generations.  For the sake of creating cognizance of this censorious issue in umpteen people, the students made videos transmitting the message of putting complete ban on plastic carry bags as our future on earth is in grave danger due to this. 

 

            The initiatives of the students resulted in success when the School Co-ordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal received the reply E-mail from the concerned officials in which the efforts of the students were appreciated and reassurance was given to take prudent actions to enforce the ban on plastic.  Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen informed that practice of no use of plastic is already going on in the institution.  She further appreciated the students about their concern for environment protection.
