HMV Jalandhar was
conferred with the prestigious award of ‘Excellence in Institutional Social
Responsibility’ by FICCI at the recently held 8th FICCI Higher Education
Excellence Awards 2022, in New Delhi. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.)
Ajay Sareen was felicitated by Dr. Bhagwat Karad, Honourable State Minister of
Finance, Government of India who also graced the event as the Chief Guest along
with Mr Arun Chawla, Director General at FICCI. Organised annually by the apex
chamber - Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), the
event brought key stakeholders including policymakers, administrators,
educationists, and students under one roof. HMV was recognised by a high-level
independent Jury panel chaired by Dr R. A. Mashelkar, Indian National Research
Professor and Chancellor of the Institute of Chemical Technology for its
exemplary work within the education segment. Held at the Indira Gandhi
Stadium Complex (IG Stadium) in New Delhi, the event also saw eminent
personalities like Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Chair-FICCI Higher Education Committee
and Pro Chancellor - Symbiosis International University, Mr Ravi Panchanadan,
Co-Chair-FICCI HE Committee & Managing Director & CEO - Manipal Global
Education Services, Mr Ayush Gupta, Director HR - Gail India Limited, Dr Mahesh
Verma, Vice Chancellor - Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, and Mr
Manab Majumdar, Deputy Secretary General from FICCI to name a few under one
roof. HMV was shortlisted from about hundreds of applicants in a multi-tier
screening process. After short listing based on a rigorous assessment by
industry leaders, academics and policy makers, HMV was called for presentation
and interactive session before the grand jury on 31st October, 2022 at the
FICCI offices in New Delhi. This presentation was evaluated for its Vision and
Mission, new initiatives, Outcome Metrics and Future Plans. Principal Dr. Ajay
Sareen congratulated Project Coordinator Dr. Anjana Bhatia and said that Hans
Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar was the only college of Punjab to
receive this award. She said that the FICCI Summit witnessed
the participation of more than 1200 national and foreign delegates from
more than 60 countries (BRICS, EU, Africa, Middle East, SAARC, CIS, Canada,
USA, UK, etc.), 150 exhibitors from top-of-the-line Indian and foreign
Institutions, 3000 focused B2B meetings and a footfall of 5000 visitors in the
exhibition. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated the
faculty and staff members and said that the felicitation received by HMV is
possible because of guidance of DAV mentors and continuous efforts of faculty
members.
