The second day of NSS camp, in
continuation with the seven day special NSS camp, was organized under the able
guidance and surveillance of Principal Dr. Prof. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen in Hans Raj
Mahila Maha Vidyalaya Jalandhar. The day was started with DAV Gaan and
subsequent formal address of Principal Ajay Sareen to the NSS volunteers. Dr.
Sareen motivated and blessed students for their concerted efforts being made
for the welfare of society. On the second day of the camp, NSS volunteers were
sent by madam principal to the village Gillan in order to perform distinct
duties. Sarpanch of the village Gillan, Balwinder Kaur welcomed all the NSS
volunteers and other associated members of the HMV with full of gusto.
Volunteers with the assistance of Dr. Shailender made beautiful paintings on
the walls of panchayat house of the village Gillan. Further, they also wrote
salogans pertaining to the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan” on the wall. In addition,
Ms. Sonia Mahendru from the dept. of computer science made the people of the
village Gillan aware regarding the digital india. She stressed upon the usage
of UPI payments which are made through phone pay, Google pay, Paytym etc. After
reaching to the college back, NSS volunteers cleaned the botanical garden of
the college under the campaign of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan”. Volunteers gathered
fig leaves from the garden for making vermi-composte. At the end of the end,
NSS adviser Dr. Anjana Bhatia and NSS coordinators Dr. Veena Arora and Ms.
Harmanu Paul appreciated the efforts of the volunteers made on the second day
and motivated them to keep the spirit high ahead. Dr. Jyoti Gogia delivered a
vote of thanks to all at the end and felt gratitude towards others.
