ECO Vibes inaugurated at HMV

 




Amidst the serene ambience of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, a beacon of environmental consciousness illuminated the hearts and minds of all present,  with Eco Vibes, a vibrant initiative aimed at nurturing environmental awareness among the youth, under the inspiring guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen on 5 April, 2024. In harmonious collaboration with the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, and supported by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, Eco Vibes embarked on a mission to sow the seeds of ecological responsibility. The two-day extravaganza unfolded with an array of enlightening workshops and spirited competitions, captivating the imagination of all participants. Gracing the occasion as the esteemed Chief Guest was Dr. KS Bath, Joint Director of PSCST, Chandigarh, whose presence lent credence to the importance of such initiatives. Dr. Ravinder Khaiwal, Professor of Environmental Health at PGI, adorned the event as the keynote speaker and Presiding Guest.  The galaxy of guests, including names such as Dr. Mandikini, Er. Lupinder, Er. VK Kapoor, Ms. Anuradha, Mr. Harjit Bawa, Mr. Sarbjit, Ms. Ramandeep, Ms. Bhoomika, Ms. Rasneet, and Ms. Sarbjit Saggu, added luster to the event with their invaluable presence. The inauguration commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the rendition of DAV Gaan, resonating with the ethos of preserving traditions. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen, in her warm welcome address, highlighted the eco-friendly endeavours undertaken by HMV, including the establishment of rainwater harvesting units, paper recycling facilities, vermicomposting setups, and fruit forests. She impassioned the younger generation to become stewards of the Earth, advocating for the practical application of environmental principles. She urged the younger generation to make the earth greener and hence beautiful and sustainable. Dr. KS Bath commended HMV for its pioneering efforts in environmental conservation, while Dr. Ravinder Khaiwal underscored the symbiotic relationship between humanity and the environment. He underlined the challenges and solutions to address the critical issues which are proving detrimental to environment. He highlighted the impact of climate change on human health and advocated for individual action as a potent solution. The event reached its crescendo with the unveiling of 'Life,' the mascot symbolizing the essence of environmental preservation, and a solemn pledge to safeguard our planet. An environment Jugni stimulated everyone to love and save the planet. Prinaipal Dr. Sareen honoured the guest with planter, paintings and mementoes.  As the day unfolded, teachers engaged in enriching workshops while participants enthusiastically participated in a myriad of competitions ranging from Poster making, Slogan writing, Rangoli, Quiz, Face Painting, Dress from waste and Nukkad Natak , each endeavouring to leave an indelible mark on the canvas of environmental stewardship. In essence, Eco emerged as a clarion call for collective action, inspiring all to embark on the noble journey of preserving and nurturing our precious planet. The coordinator of the workshop is Dr. Anjana Bhatia and Co-Coordinator is Mr. Sumit Sharma. Total 896 students from 13 schools and 45 colleges participated in this program. Under the visionary leadership of Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen, Eco Vibes stands as a testament to the unwavering commitment of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya towards a greener, more sustainable future.
